Christmas 2009

Josh's parents are taking this wall down, so we all had fun taking a hammer to it....
Josh decided to take his whole body to it....

I cant find my camera, so no pictures sorry. Its more just a recording so I don't forget how much fun we had!!

The Holiday season is always my favorite time of year and this year it has been different than any other that is for sure.
This was Tate's first Christmas and being 6 months old, he really didn't know that it was different than any other day, all's he knew was there was lots of paper everywhere and he got to play in it all, which he absolutley loved!
This year just like all the others, we were very busy in December making it to all the different Christmas parties.
We had our annual Shields party, which is usually out at STansbury but this year we opted for the Tooele Army Depot Bowling alley, it is so much! My Grandma and Aunt Kathy rent out the bowling alley for a few hours and we play and eat and visit. It was so much! I love that I am close with not only my first cousins, but seconds and thirds even. I have such a great family!

Then was the Tucker Family Christmas party, this year it was at Josh's Aunt Linda's church, we ate yummy soup and then played games. It was so fun, we played fruit basket and for such a simple game we all love it and crack up every time we play. Then we had a gift exchange, where you play the left/right game, it was really funny watching the little kids trying to keep up and know which was left and which was right.

That same day we had the Johnstun Family Christmas party hosted by Josh's parents, it was fun, good food and lots of family to visit with.

The week of Christmas came to be an interesting one. We started the week off with Tate's daycare calling me on Monday saying I needed to come get him, he wasn't feeling well. So I picked him up and headed to the doctors office.
Wouldn't you know it, another ear infection and bronchitis. It was so sad, I felt so bad for him, the doctor gave us a perscription for some antibiotic, he did a different kind since he has already had 3 ear infections. And for the cough, well he said Ib profin helps babies since you can't give them cough syrup.
After I got him home I started feeling sick later that night and Josh had to end up taking care of two sickies. Needless to say I ended up getting the stomach flu, and was sick all day Tuesday. Wednesday I woke up feeling a little better and left Josh and Tate home, well now Josh had the stomach flu and I ended up coming home to watch Tate so Josh could get some rest.
Alls I kept thinking was how lovely, we all are sick for Tate's first Christmas. Tate wasn't showing any signs of improvement by Thursday (Christmas Eve) so I called the doctor and they had me bring him in before they closed. His ears had gotten worse, so he took him off the antibiotic he was on and gave him 2 shots, one in each leg that is supposed to heal the ifections almost immediately (why they dont' do his everytime I dont know), well it worked and by that night he was already showing signs of improvedment! and Christmas day he was great, just not a big appetite from him but I think it's because he ended up with a little bit of the stomach flu as well.

Christmas EVE: I worked a in the morning then after taking Tate to the doctor I dropped him off with Josh, who was feeling much better, which I was very thankful for, and I tried to get some shopping done, seeing as how I hadnt really been a great planner this year.
Then we headed off to Tooele to see my family. We made our way to see my Step Mom and brother and sister out in Grantsville, and we went and visited my Grandpa Petroff and then ended the night at my Grandma's house for the McCoy Christmas Party.
Every year for as long as I can remember we all go to my Grandma's for Christmas Eve, it is so much fun and I love it! My Grandparents really are the best!
It's so fun to get together with everyone, we don't see eachother all that often because well, life seems so busy, so it was great to be able to just visit.

AFter the party, we came back to our house and my Mom and Shane stayed the night. Christmas morning was nice. I had no idea what I was getting, and Josh picked out his gift so he knew but I still managed to get a few things to surprise him on.

Josh got me a MASTIFF PUPPY! She is so precious! I was kind of shocked but I did guess that when he asked me to try and guess. I don't have her yet, but she will be here in a few weeks. I can't wait.
Josh got a new Pistol, a 1911, 45. ( I don't know what it is called but I know it has that in the title).
Tate got lots of needed jammies and clothes from Us and one toy and then he got spoiled by all the other grandparents.
After we opened presents Josh took me to see the puppy and oh she is the cutest thing! Then we headed over to his parents house for our annual breakfast!
We spent the day and just hung out with everyone, we had a blast.
