Ogden Half Marathon

So back in January or Febuary my work was going to do a drawing for the Ogden Marathon, so I thought heck I will enter why not. WEll I got picked so I was like yeah sure I can do a half marathon. I have always wanted to I have plenty of time to train....

Well it came time to start training, and well I found I didn't have plenty of time to train and before I knew it it was the week of the marathon. The Monday before the race, I walked 6 miles. And that was about it, that was my training, with running here and there the past few months. So Saturday the 15th of May was the big day. I was all ready to go! We got up there about 6am, Eden Park was the starting point. It was cool, about 32 degrees. 7am the gun went off and we were off. I was feeling pretty good, all pumped and full of adrenaline. So I was going pretty well. Decided I would walk the hill, I didn't want to over do it, cause I still have eleven miles. Well surprisingly I ended up running most of it. I did role my ankle when I was going down Ogden Canyon, and that hurt so bad but I got up walked it out and moved on.
Anyways, it wasn't all that bad, the hardest were the last 3 miles, my knees were killing me. But I made it through to the finish line in 3 hours. I was never so happy to finish something. It was a great experiance and I plan to do it again next year, but this time train and get a better time.

That's awesome, thanks for the encouragement. And 3 hours is my goal for the half, so that makes me feel like maybe I have a chance : )!
